Wheel House Designs Western Tanager Sock
The Western Tanager is the bird that Wheel House Designs captures on this Sock. It lives from Canada's Northwest Territories to Central America. When the Western Tanager hunts for insects they stay still until they leap to catch their prey, they hover and return. They will at times supplement their food with fruit. The female makes the nest alone, but the male will bring her food and protect her during this time. The color of the Flame Reds on the Western Tanager is thought to come from one of the insects it eats. Wheel House Designs Western Tanager Sock starts on a background of Grey with the Argyle lattice with Twigs in Jet. Below the Cuff reads, "WESTERN TANAGER". Under this one side has the Male Western Tanager with his Head a Bright Orange-Red Head, Yellow down the Breast and Belly. His Wings are Black with a Yellow Shoulder bar and a lower White Bar. On the other side is the Female. She is mostly all Yellow with a little Color around her Face and her Wings are Mark with Two Wing
