The Peacock we most likely relate to is the Indian Peafowl (Blue Peafowl) The Green Peacock is from Sri Lanka. The African Peacock has a shorter train (tail of feathers). The Peacock shows his train to the Peahen to help get her to mate. He wants her to check out the eye on the tops of the feathers so he will flutter them and bat them making noise to make her look. They roost in trees and nest on the ground. They eat plants, bugs and will also eat amphibians and small mammals.
