Gourds are grown along the coast or in the jungle before being sun dried and scraped then carried up the mountain where family workshops hand-sketch the design, hand carve and shade the ornament with a burning tool. Regular and whimsy measures around 3 inches high and 3 inches in diameter. Mini measures from 1.5"-1.75" tall.
