“Minding the Flock” Scripture Print

You may find this painting familiar. It was painted by Thomas Moran in 1867 and donned the cover of Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortlund in 2020. I became acquainted with both works during my second miscarriage in 2021 when I was in a pit of depression and needed truth and encouragement in a weary time. Matthew 11:29-30 “‘Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
