Hurricane Relief in Jamaica Jamaica is facing one of the most powerful storms in its history. On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall as a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of up to 185 mph (≈ 295 km/h). The storm caused severe destruction across the island, with some communities reporting damage to nearly 90% of structures. More than 530,000 people lost power, and approximately 13,000 people were staying in emergency shelters among 521 opened across the country. Through our Give A Light initiative, Solight Design is providing solar lanterns to bring light, safety, and hope to affected families. Bring Light to Ukraine  Through our partnership with Common Man for Ukraine, Solight lanterns are bringing light and hope to families enduring war.
