2007 Kistler Pinot Noir 'Kistler Vineyard,' Sonoma Coast

  Founded in 1978, Kistler Vineyards is a small, family-owned and operated winery specializing in the production of Burgundian style Chardonnay and limited amounts of Pinot Noir. Grapes are estate grown and purchased from vineyards in Sonoma County. In 1992, Kistler Vineyards moved all production to its Vine Hill Road Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. "Bright ruby. Intensely perfumed bouquet of red and dark berries, potpourri, mocha and sandalwood. Sappy, palate-coating red and dark berry flavors possess serious depth but don't come off as heavy. On the contrary, this is lively and precise, with very good finishing clarity and gently sweet mineral-driven persistence, (VM, 92 points)".
