The Rotys family estate has existed since 1710 in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today, the Rotys control about 15 hectares of vines, and current winemaker Pierre-Jean Roty represents the 11th generation. The estate style is rich, powerful and sensual. The wines are matured in oak, normally not older than 2 year-old barrels from some of the oldest vines in the whole Côte d’Or (over 100 years old). ‘Griottes’ is aged in 100% new oak for 15-16 months, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
