Reimagining Precious Moments: From Perishable to Eternal In my latest body of work, I explore the intersection of memory, materiality, and modern consumption through a transformation of Precious Moments figurines—delicate, sentimental objects often associated with nostalgia and fleeting innocence—into something more enduring and concrete. By coating these traditionally fragile ceramic pieces in a metallic bronze finish, I imbue them with a sense of permanence, contrasting their original ephemeral nature with an almost sculptural, timeless quality. At the same time, I juxtapose these preserved figures with an unexpected element: the disposable, everyday Amazon box. This artistic exploration is rooted in my fascination with readymades, a concept pioneered by Marcel Duchamp, in which ordinary, mass-produced objects are recontextualized as art simply by the artist’s selection and presentation. The Precious Moments figurines, sentimental keepsakes often overlooked in contemporary discour
