Peridex

This is a professional strength mouthwash, containing 0.12% chlorhexidine gluconate. It is meant to be used for severely irritated gums, after surgery or deep cleaning. It is antimicrobial and reduces the amount of bacteria in the mouth to help with healing of a wound.  For best results, it should be used after brushing. The best regiment would be swishing it for 30 seconds twice per day, and then spitting it out; no eating/drinking should be done afterwards for 30 minutes & don't rinse your mouth with water after either. Do not ingest/swallow it.  Note that long term use of this rinse will stain the teeth.
