1960s Vibrant Pink Silk Evening Gown with Beaded Irises-size 4

There is no label in this gown which is unfortunate but the design and the way that it is sewn indicates that it a George Halley. The gown belonged to Tommy Vilando’s wife who used George Halley often and had her own number meaning George had a dress form made to Mrs Vilando body and when she ordered a dress he would use the dress form to custom make her dresses. This gown is magnificent and the vibrant pink color is a show stopper. The mock turtleneck collar gives way to the empire waist with a beaded band. The back has a separate piece that ends at the hem. The wow factor is the beaded irises oversized in white bugle beads with silver rhinestones. There are beaded in a way to give the irises a 3 dimensional effect. The long stems of the irises go all the way to the bottom of the gown where there are leaves done in 3 different types of beads which give them a feel of blowing in the wind.
