Their polyphagous nature allows them to feed on numerous species of mites, including spider mites and broad mites, thrips and also pollen and fungi in the absence of an adequate pest food source. An adult is beige and less than 1 mm long.  Amblyseius andersoni is a biocontrol agent that remains active under a wide temperature range (43-104ºF ) making them suitable for early season introductions as well as very hot conditions. They are used in wide variety of crops including vegetables, ornamentals, fruit crops, and cannabis.
