The MICRON P160, P400, P401, P600 and MAXIM P1000 processors are used in conjunction with a power amp and the appropriate loudspeakers. The P160 should be matched with the MICRON 160, the P400 with the MICRON 400, the P401 with the MAXIM 401, the P600 with the MICRON 600 and the P1000 with the MAXIM 1000. The result of matching the appropriate processor with the appropriate loudspeaker is a flatter response at a lower frequency: MICRON 160 - 65HZ to 19KHz +/- 3dBMICRON 400 - 65HZ to 20KHz +/- 3dBMAXIM 401 - 45HZ to 19KHz +/- 3dBMICRON 600 - 50HZ to 16KHz +/- 3dBMAXIM 1000 - 45HZ to 19KHz +/- 3dB  The processor is also equipped to act as a 2-way active crossover in order to set up a 3-way, bi-amped speaker system. The system is 3-way because the speaker contains a passive crossover.
