Farmer Education Workshop Registration: Value-Added Product and Kitchen
Are you interested in producing a value-added product but have a lot of questions? We will host a workshop in the Value-Added Kitchen facility at the SAHC Community Farm, where you will learn the process from start to finish of how to go about creating a “product” from your fresh products/raw ingredients. You will be connected with the certifying agency so you can sell both at market and in-store. During the second portion of the workshop we will teach a short Food Safety and Kitchen Sanitation Class which will allow you to sign-up to access the kitchen for use. Our aim is to provide a kitchen that is certified and fully equipped at a cost that will “make sense” financially for farmers to take a chance at producing a product that will be more valuable, potentially shelf stable and marketable to a larger customer base.
