The Rohn 45GSSB Base Plate, which is 24" square and 3/4" thick, is designed to be affixed to an existing or engineered concrete pad. This is achieved using twelve 1/2" diameter, 12-inch long bolts or equivalent HDG threaded rods that protrude through the pad (refer to the engineering notes in the spec sheet for more details). This base plate can serve as a self-supporting base for tower installations, with its suitability depending on the wind load. The tower base employs double bolted joints with Grade 5 (45JBK) bolts, a method that has been demonstrated to be the most effective for joining tower sections, ensuring robustness and reliability.
