Bunching Onion Seeds - Red Beard

Allium fistulosum These gorgeous scallions have red stalks with green tops, and wonderful mild onion flavor. They can be harvested at any size, but if allowed to reach full maturity, the tops can reach 27 inches in height, with as much as 12 inches of red stalk. Hilling up soil around the onions as they grow will promote more stalk development. Red Beard bunching onions can be direct seeded or transplanted into the garden in early spring through fall. They prefer full sun but can tolerate some shade, particularly in the hottest part of the year. Young scallions can be harvested in 40 days. 1 gram packet contains a minimum of 200 seeds.
