Pole Bean Seeds - Luther's Crooked Greasy

Unavailable for 2025  Phaseolus vulgaris HEIRLOOM. Another wonderful bean given to us by the late Luther Bailey of Mars Hill, NC. We're excited to offer it this year, and know you will love the high yields and amazing flavor as much as we do. As you can guess from the name, these beans run crooked and are rarely straight, but we find this makes them easier to spot when picking. Beans are best for fresh eating when picked at about 4" in size. Vigorous vines will need a sturdy trellis.  Direct seed into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Pole beans will need full sun and well-draining soil. Provide a trellis for these beans. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, pole beans will need at least an inch of water per week. Consistently harvesting the pods will result in a long harvest window. Annual. 85 days to maturity.
