Helianthus annuus Full-sized ten inch blooms have bright yellow petals and grow on two foot tall plants. Make excellent cut flowers and are small enough to be grown in containers. Loved by bees! Direct seed or transplant into the garden after all danger of frost has passed. Sunflowers will need full sun and well-draining soil. Water well to ensure good germination. Once germinated, sunflowers will need at least an inch of water per week. Typically grown for flowers. Annual.
