Marla’s marriage had many rocky seasons from that point, including a time where Marla held a secret of her own that would ultimately end her first marriage. The season of singleness that followed was filled with deep soul searching, Christian counseling, and hours of prayer - as Marla desperately wanted to break the chains that living in darkness had caused her family. As Marla’s Mama heart began praying for each of her children to also be freed from becoming a person of secrecy and lies, her daughters’ addiction - previously hidden from her - began to surface. The deep sorrow she felt for her children during those years lead to more prayer, Christian counseling, and hours on her face crying out to God for her
