Born with a rare physical condition called V.A.T.E.R. syndrome, she spent most of her childhood in a hospital. By the time she was a teenager, she had undergone over forty surgeries and was taking pain medication prescribed by her doctors. Dependence on these narcotics eventually led to intravenously using harder illegal drugs such as heroin. After the death of a very close friend born with the same condition, who she had grown up with in the hospital, Sarah’s life spiraled out of control. She hit her rock bottom when she lost everything she had, including a relationship with her family. BUT GOD, knew this valley of darkness was all part of the adventure to bring her to her knees.
