Balcones Texas Rum

This is the latest iteration of Balcones Distilling's award-winning Texas Rum, aged for at least three years primarily in new oak casks and made from 100% domestic molasses. Double pot distilled and bottled at cask strength. On the nose an elegant blend of ginger, nutmeg, and sandalwood spice cuts through rich notes of caramel custard and eggy french toast draped with maple syrup. Velvety oak tannins peel away to reveal blackened lemon wheels, grilled pineapple, lemongrass, and fresh rubber. Tasting Notes The juicy palate beguiles with a dizzying array of baked fruits, dried berries, kiwis, guava paste, and salted papaya. With another sip, the feast of fruit deepens into culinary flavors of tomato paste and coconut masala curry dusted with bitter lime zest. Rubbery solvents bloom pleasantly on the late palate before finishing with the spiced linger of cinnamon gum.
