A really lovely and finely preserved copy of the theological writings germane to the Scottish Reformation, including his rebukes of Queen Mary [who he calls simply, Mary]. Also includes a life of John Knox and a history of the Reformation itself [Scottish] from 1422 to 1567. The History of the Reformation of the Church of Scotland; Containing Five Books: Together with some Treatises Conducing to the History. To all which is Subjoin’d, an Alphabetical Index, Pointing at some Notable Passages in this History; which Index was not in any former Edition. Edinburgh. MDCCXXXI [1731]. 663pp. An exemplary copy of the original history of John Knox and the Scottish Reformation housed in a 17th century style paneled calf, original to the binding and likely issued thusly to nod to its earlier original. Very attractive patina; crisp, clean, and sound. Some light foxing on interior and minor abrasion
