1744 JOSEPH PARSONS. Christians Rewarded for Service to Christ. Thomas Foxcroft's Copy!

What a wonderful little item, very much operating within the revivalist spirit of the Great Awakening, with multiple points of interest: 1. The present was the copy of Thomas Foxcroft [1697-1769]. Foxcroft was editor of the works of Jonathan Edwards as they went to press, an important supporter of George Whitefield and the Great Awakening in general in his role as Pastor of First Church in Boston. He was friends also with Aaron Burr Sr, Gilbert and William Tennent, David Brainerd, etc. 2. The present copy was gifted apparently by the Printer, in all likelihood Daniel Fowle, the more prominent of the two printers. Fowle was the first Colonial printer to published a work by Samuel Adams and to publish the Scriptures.  Parsons, Joseph [1702-1765].
