Bogdan Model 00 Salmon Reel

A superb Stan Bogdan 00 "Grilse" fly reel, single action and set up for RHW. Mint, unused condition. 3 1/4" diameter, 1" spool width. Weighs 8.3 oz on my scale. Black anodized side plates with silver rims, spool, foot, serpentine crank, buttons, and nameplate. This reel has a ventilated sideplate and spool on the winding side. A great model for light single handed salmon rods, as it is the lightest salmon reel that Stan made that has the fantastic double brake drag system. This reel comes packed in a brown leather drawstring bag.This reel also comes from the collection of Dr. Earl Fleegler, a passionate angler and well-known collector in the classic angling community as well as a renowned hand surgeon. Dr. Fleegler was close friends with a number of angling luminaries including Tom Maxwell, Vince Marinaro, and Stan Bogdan, the latter of whom made several reels for him including this one.
