Bogdan Model 300 Salmon Reel

A very nice Bogdan 300 Salmon reel, one of the most desirable spey reels ever made. It doesn't get any better than this for larger salmon or steelhead rivers. This is the second largest model in the Bogdan lineup, with a 3.75" diameter and 1.375" spool width. Built to fish #10 lines it holds 200 yards of 20 lb backing and weighs 12.5 ounces. Set up for RHW. This one is in mint condition, with no sign that it has ever been on a rod. Clear anodized silver frame with black sideplates, and a silver handle, foot, oil port over, drag adjustment housing, poacher's knob and Bogdan nameplate. The backplate has the original owner's name professionally engraved in block letters, along with an engraved caricature of Al Ellis, a well known figure in the Arizona fly fishing community, who, I am told, helped procure reels for friends and customers.
