Sew Basic: Intro to Hand and Machine Sewing for Beginners
Sewing intrigues you but you don’t know where to start… Come learn about the basics of sewing in an inspiring and friendly atmosphere! WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: If only you could hem your own pants, mend your torn clothes, and reattach that button that fell off! Or maybe you want to sew your own clothes or start upcycling secondhand garments. In this 2-hour class, professional patternmaker and designer Ruby Gertz will cover sewing basics from the ground up. You need ZERO experience to take this class! We will cover hand and machine sewing basics, as well as how to choose a first project that can help you take your skills to the next level. In the class, students will create a pin cushion that they can take home and use to store pins and needles. The course is open to folks of all genders 18+.
