Virtual Clo3D Sloper Workshop: Learn the Basics of Patternmaking in 3D

Drape and draft a basic bodice, skirt, and sleeve to fit a custom avatar using Clo3D.  WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION: Curious about drafting your own sewing patterns using Clo3D? This program has the potential to save you material and labor by working with a virtual simulation to get you past that “first fitting” stage. In this 4-session course, professional patternmaker Ruby Gertz will guide students through designing a custom avatar in Clo3D and then creating custom blocks for a bodice, skirt, and sleeve.  Skills and concepts covered will include an introduction to the Clo3D layout and basic functions, how to customize your avatar, and how to create and fit bodice, skirt, and sleeve patterns using the program. We will also be going over how to add seam allowance and print out your pattern or create a projector file so that you can sew from it in real life.
