From the Farm to Table Pittsburgh introduction: ” Our first conference in 2007 focused on traditional diets and we wanted to return to that theme in 2017. Growing Roots for Healthy Communities brings a cultural perspective to this year's event. It's all about celebrating the diversity of farming and traditional cooking methods that make eating local fun, educational and enriching. The Farm to Table vendors and cooking demonstrations will reflect recipes, cooking/ gardening techniques from across the U.S. and around the world. The Roots Cookbook will memorialize our conference theme and give readers the ability to make a meal at home that varies from their everyday flavors with proceeds benefiting For Good PGH. For Good works to create positive experiences for individuals in the Pittsburgh area by pairing them with organizations, companies and private citizens who have the desire and the resources to do good.
