Lonicera caerulea var. edulis The fruit from this bush is a blue, teardrop-shaped berry with very tiny seeds (like a blueberry). The fruit is tart but tasty and useful for jam and jelly. Indigo has great flavor, and firmer fruit than Borealis; good for fresh selling. These are the first plants to leaf out, flower, and set fruit in the nursery. Cedar wax-wings go crazy for Haskaps, as do bumblebees. The bush is not climbing or invasive, and reaches about 5 feet in height. Requires a pollinator of another variety. A lower-growing bush, Indigo Gem is still highly productive. 8-18 inch plants.
