Replica M14 Thermite Grenade (NEW IMPROVED 11-21-25)
These are inert replicas of the USGI M14 thermite grenade used during and after WWII. The main bodies are made of heavy gauge steel with milled aluminum "endcaps." This design makes these replicas nearly indestructible. Unlike other repos on the market, these replicas feature the proper MKII fuse cast is solid zinc alloy (the same metal used during WWII). These replicas are 100% inert and can not be made to function. In size/shape these grenades are identical to the M16/M18 smoke grenades but their "payload" was much different. Rather than imitating smoke when the pin was pulled, thermite grenades were designed to burn at around 4,000 degrees. This extreme heat made them ideal for destroying captured weapons such as cannons, mortars, and tanks. When enemy equipment was captured or if American equipment was at risk of being captured by the enemy it was standard operating procedure to "spike" that equipment with a thermit grenade so that it could not be used by the enemy.
