This fabric tape looks exactly like original medical tape but is specifically designed to leave little to no sticky residue after it is removed from you gear.  Many reenactors and collectors have purchased original web gear with white medical tape on it only to remove the tape and find a large amount of a white tare like substance left over on the webbing.  In other cases reenactors have used real medical tape to secure their kit.  Although historically accurate real medical tape leaves behind a large amount of sticky residue which is very difficult to remove from your gear.
