Kapital's Century Denim is one of their signature fabrics- a completely proprietary Sashiko topstitched denim available in a variety of unique patterns and dye combinations. Sashiko (literally "little stabs") is a form of stitching that was initially utilized functionally to repair or reinforce damaged fabric, eventually growing popular for decorative purposes as well. The specific weaving process to create this denim is one of Kapital's trade secrets, but we do know that it's produced in a single pass, with the fabric being made on one loom (rather than several). Woven with 100% cotton yarns, it's stiffer than other denim fabrics of comparable weight thanks to the topstitching, requiring a bit more wear before fully breaking in. Though it is sanforized (essentially, treated for shrinkage), it comes raw and unwashed, and will shrink very slightly, between 1-3% overall after washing the first time.
