The Mendon Overshirt is the update to their long-running Alta style, with a bit more flair and some slightly roomier pockets. It's designed to be worn as an intermediate piece, sufficient as a standalone jacket for most of the year, it can still fit under a larger coat while sitting on top of another shirt or a chunky sweater for maximum warmth. Similar to the Alta, it's cut like a flannel shirt, and features two substantial chest pockets (large enough to fit most modern smartphones inside), and another two welted pockets below that for your hands.  The shapes are a little different: where the Alta's pocket flaps were flat, these feature an "acorn" curve. Similarly, where the Alta's two hand pockets were sometimes hard to see due to their construction — on the Mendon, Freenote have combined the welted pocket entrance with a pseudo-patch-pocket stitching outline, giving the Mendon a more substantial, jacket-vibe.
