Ian Reith, the founder of Dapper Cigars, explains that all the concepts behind Desvalido have autobiographical elements. The name in Cuban Spanish roughly translates to "Those Without Hope". The rooster in the center of the logo reflects Spanish connotations of pride and bravery, while also representing his zodiac birth year.
