NAPCO ELE-LA1053 Special Dryer Thermostat Hi-Limit Kit with Fuse for Electric

The NAPCO LA1053 is a thermal fuse kit that works for both electric and gas dryers. It is a direct replacement part for Whirlpool and Maytag parts LA1053 and is equivalent to Supco part SET405. The purpose of this 3-piece kit is to provide the parts necessary to replace an open thermal fuse on either an electric or gas model dryer. The kit not only provides a replacement thermal fuse, but also 2 high-limit thermostats: 1 for electric model dryers and 1 for gas models. The same thermal fuse is used on both models. After correcting the dryer malfunction which caused the thermal fuse to open, be sure to replace the high-limit thermostat as well as the thermal fuse. This is necessary since the high-limit thermostat is designed to open at a lower temperature than the thermal fuse, and failed to do so. Note: As an additional precaution, check the total exhaust system (lint filter, vent duct, vent hood) for lint buildup and clean as necessary.
