Introducing The 2024 Ohio Statehouse Limited Edition Ornament. The Great Seal of the State of Ohio has been in use since the early 19th century and has been redesigned numerous times throughout the decades. It has always featured the view of Mount Logan as it can be seen from Ohio's first capital, Chillicothe, with the sun rising behind the hills, casting light onto the foreground. There, the viewer will find a sheaf of wheat to represent the state's agriculture, and a gathering of 17 arrows to represent the fact that Ohio was the 17th state to enter the Union upon gaining statehood in 1803. The painted glass Great Seal featured in the 2024 Holiday Ornament was designed by the Rossback Art C Glass Co. of Columbus, Ohio. It hung in the rotunda of the Ohio Statehouse from 1924 until it was removed and dismantled in the 1960s. It remained boxed up in a closet for decades, where it was completely forgotten.
