Back & Sides: Rosewood Top: Spruce Lower Bout: 15 1/8"  Scale Length: 25.4" Nut Width: 1 13/16" Notes: c. 1932 Tonk Brothers era Washburn 5234 "Deluxe". Serial #1973.  The "Deluxe" model guitars were the highest end of Washburn branded guitars in the 1930s.  The 000 sized version of the "Deluxe" line are less common to find than their 00 and 0 sized counterparts.  Model stamped "5238" but this guitar has the same dimensions/specs as Washburn 5234s typically have.  Bears the hallmarks of being built by Regal in its Chicago factory.  This model of Washburn is one of our favorite of any vintage flattop acoustic guitar models.  One of the reasons we love this particular model smooch is it responds equally well to both fingerpicking and flatpicking.     Factory X braced.  Mahogany Neck joins the body at the 12th fret. Ebony fretboard with abalone snowflake fretboard inlays.  Fancy gold filigree on guitar top.  General finish wear with scuffs, nicks and scratches but overall very good
