Back & Sides: Rosewood Top: Adirondack Spruce Lower Bout: 14 1/8" Scale Length: 24 5/8" Nut Width: 1 3/4" Notes: This Tonk Brothers era c. 1932 Washburn 5238 "Deluxe" is in excellent playing condition and has the wonderful bell like tone we love about these guitars.  This guitar was likely made by Regal for the Tonk Brothers' Washburn branded line after Regal took over production of Washburn branded instruments from J.R.Stewart.   As is typical of these top of the line Washburns, beautiful gold leaf filigree adorns the top. Factory X braced with a 12 fret neck joint.  MOP headstock inlay and diamond/snowflake fretboard position marker inlay.  Ivoroid fretboard and body binding.  Ebony "smile bridge" with MOP inlay appears to be original.  Ebony fretboard.  Mahogany neck with a very comfortable rounded profile and beautiful volute. Some very faint evidence of a bridge reglue at some point.   The top does show picking hand wear below the soundhole as represented in the pictures.  G
