Their special design includes a recess in the center of each bit to allow these socket bits to be used on tamper-resistant and security fasteners in addition to standard 6-point star fasteners. The rugged star / Torx bit heads are machined from high-strength S2 steel that is permanently set into durable chrome vanadium steel sockets. For easy identification, each socket has easy to read size markings hard stamped into the steel that won't wear or fade away. This set includes five 1/4-inch drive sockets for finer, more precision jobs, and three 3/8-inch sockets to help provide the necessary torque to deal with even the most stubborn fasteners.
