Apiguard is a thymol-based gel used to control Varroa mites in honeybee colonies.  It is a natural treatment, considered a form of IPM integrated pest management, and is also effective against tracheal mites and chalkbrood Apiguard patented slow release gel that ensures correct dosage of its active ingredient, thymol. Thymol is a naturally occurring substance derived from the plant thyme. Two treatments are recommended.
