Walnut Hijaz flute in the key of A
This flute is made out of a dark, chocolate brown piece of American black walnut. This hard and durable wood will not dent or break easily. It has a lovely subtle grain pattern which feels nice to the touch. It’s less glassy smooth than a wood like cherry or maple as the small black flecks in the grain remain after varnishing. Each of these flutes will have a fancy low profile block that I have chosen to compliment the colors and character of the wood. The block might be a little different than what is pictured, but rest assured i will choose one that i think complements your unique flute best. This flute is tuned to a Hijaz scale which has a Hebrew or middle eastern sound to it. This style of flute is more difficult to play than our Native American styles of flute because of the uneven hole spacing and the lowest hole being set much further down on the body of the flute. Some
