Poplar Native American style D flute
This flute is made from a colorful piece of poplar. This medium weight hardwood has a smooth finish and dense straight grain. Though this is technically a hardwood, I consider it to be somewhere in between, it is lighter in weight than walnut or maple, but harder and heavier than cedar. It has a lovely resonant voice while being a little more durable than the softer wood flutes. Please note that the glue line is subtly visible on this flute, take a look at the pictures. I have reduced the price for this minor flaw. This flute is made from FSC certified wood. FSC certification ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. Flutes in the key of D are more difficult to play than some of the higher pitched keys and are better suited for people with some flute playing experience or people with experience playing other instruments.
