Behind the Door

This painting, is a powerful piece to me, and hopefully to you as well. It was my first venture into the realm of cubism, which also embodies a pivotal moment in my life—a moment of transition, upheaval, and profound growth.At first glance, notice a woman standing exposed against a closed door, her silhouette a metaphor for the threshold between the past and the future. I was going through a lot of change when I painted her. A move to new surroundings, ending a toxic relationship, and the bold leap into the unknown as I abandoned the security of a corporate job to chase my artistic dreams.The woman's posture shows vulnerability and resilience. On the right side of her face, her eyes gaze downward, mirroring the apprehension that often accompanies periods of transition. Change, after all, is hard. Yet, on the left side of her face, her eyes are wide open, a smile forming on her lips. Here lies the essence of courage—the willingness to embrace the unknown, to face the future with determi
