Puddling for Minerals

I love painting these ground shots that encompass a square foot or so of nature, so much beauty can be found at your feet. Tiger Swallowtails and other butterflies love to suck up rich minerals from wet rocks or ground. This scene highlights this behavior and the beauty of fallen acorns, leaves, rocks and water.
