In the physical world, water and electronics typically don’t play well together. But in the photo composite world, anything goes. In this image, the “roundish” raindrops complement the perfectly spherical solder joints, and the intricate organic web strands echo the laser-perfect etched wiring. Hats off to the web spinner for providing a post-rainstorm photo opp. And to the human who left a computer on the curb for trash pickup--it was probably no longer useful for moving ones and zeroes, but it offered a wealth of closeup shots and the opportunity for “digital recycling.” The PortalThe ring-like portal that frames the image was digitally abstracted from the headlamp of a 1963 Chrysler Turbine, so named because of its unique turbine engine. ❋ TURBINE PORTAL SERIES:Each image in my portal series consists of two photographs: the first photo serves as a virtual “frame” around the second photo.
