Begonia 'La Cresta'

Begonia 'La Cresta' is sometimes called Begonia 'Suzies Curl' or 'Suzy's Curl'. But as far as I can tell the accepted name is 'La Creata'. This gorgeous large leaf rhizomatous begonia has a crested leaf margin. These crested begonias are sometimes called "Lettuce Leaf Begonias". The large leaf is a light bronze green with light green veins and mottling in the blade. It makes a magnificent specimen when mature. Like mosts rhizomatous begonias allow them to get dry between waterings. (Zug, CA, 1981) Care of Begonia 'La Cresta': Shade to partial shade, temp. 45 to 95 degrees, 15 to 18 in. tall, allow getting fairly dry between waterings.
