SiS: SHOCKING Orange, Red, Yellow and Green HAMPTON BUTTE Petrified Wood Slab!

This is one of the most richly colored petrified wood speicmens I've come across from the Hampton Butte site in quite some time!  It's one of the most unusual Hampton Butte logs we've ever seen in fact, and considering the variety that this site is famous for, that's really saying something!  This is a really gorgeous cross section from a large and complete fossil wood and agate cast combination that formed in Oregon's famous Hampton Butte petrified forest.  There are telltale remnants of the original wood structure throughout the face and the larger, organized pores suggest hardwood to me but as is often the case with these casts, the structure is just obscure enough to keep you from seeing enough to be certain what species it is.  It's actually very well silicified by Hampton standards and took a very nice polish.  The flame like color pattern revealed in the mirror polished face is one of the most dramatic I've ever seen from this site!  It makes a unique piece of natural art and is
