Spectacular 17"+ Oregon RIP CUT FIR Petrified Wood Slab - Bear Creek Deposit!
It's been years since I've had a nice piece of Bear Creek petrified wood and I was reminded just how much I miss it when I cut this amazing slab! This giant display specimen is one of the most dramatic pieces of petrified wood in the shop right now and the more you study it, the more fascinating it becomes! The heavily weathered, antiquated sides of the stone alone will capture your gaze and imagination and not let it go, but then the gorgeous fir wood grain revealed in the mirror polished face takes over and you're lost in the stone again! The light bluish white to golden hued agate that separates some of the annual growth rings is just beautiful and contrasts so nicely with the dark wood grain. It's another one of those super gemmy, richly colored petrified conifer slabs from a less seldom encountered location in Central Oregon.
