WARM, BEAUTIFUL & KINKY 12" Saddle Mtn., Wash. Petrified Wood Round!

This gorgeous slab is one of the nicest Washington State Saddle Mountain petrified wood rounds in this size range that we've come across in many years. This piece came to us as part of the Beck collection and is an exceptional example of the fine pieces this family has been known for producing for more than half a century! It's a beautiful specimen with great growth rings and finely detailed wood structure under magnification in pleasing, subtle, warm colors. This slab came from a very slow growing tree and shows fine, clear, tightly packed growth rings - far more than you could hope to count! The clear and crisp wood grain is typical of the best of the fossil conifers found at this site. The opal content is so high in the preserved wood that it polishes like porcelain or glass - it's really something that needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
