Handmade Ceramic Brittany Bowl - Wave
Inspired by the traditional Breton bowls of Boston ceramicist Florence Penault's home region in France, these bowls have two two tiny handles or ears. They are sized perfectly for ice cream, cereals or a cup of soup. Finished with blue glaze details on the handles and inner and outer rim. Sold individually. Each is one of a kind and will vary slightly. Approximately 3 1/2" tall x 4 3/4" to 5" diameter, 1" handles Florence resides between France, Connecticut and Boston. Of her work, she says: "My influence is certainly Asian. I made several trips to Japan but I have beenmostly influenced by the Korean aesthetic. While in Osaka I saw a simple and humble piece in the Osaka’s museum of ceramics which broke my heart. Well, there were two.
