It also redirects the heat that escapes from the top of the heater back to the heating area making your heater even more efficient. Equipping your heater with a heat deflector will also lessen the clearance to combustibles from 36" to 14" allowing you to install your heater in tight areas. Heat deflector for the Platinum heater is stainless steel. It's black for the Tungsten heater.
